In my opinion, the ultimate comfort food, just has to be potatoes in any shape and form. There’s something so satisfying and delicious about that starchy vegetable. Well if you’re a potato fan, like us, these baked potato fries with avocado dip are a must.

Ingredients for Baked Potato Fries

  • Baking potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Spices – chili powder, garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper
  • Sour cream
  • Avocado
  • Lime juice
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Garlic

How to Make Baked Potato Fries – Step by Step

Hot savory seasoned fries with refreshing cilantro lime avocado dip. It’s the perfect side or heck make it into a full meal! They come together fairly simple and are easy to double for a larger crowd.

  1. First, preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Next, in a large bowl, toss together the potatoes, olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.
  3. Arrange the potatoes in a single layer on the sheet pan.
  4. Lastly, bake for 50-53 minutes or until browned and crisp, stirring halfway. If desired, sprinkle with flaky salt before serving.

You simply add all of the avocado dip ingredients to a bowl of a food processor and pulse until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Fries are best when served immediately but the dip you can prepare the day before.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs. baking potatoes, scrubbed and cut lengthwise into 1/2-inch-thick-fries
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/4 – 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • black pepper, to taste
  • flaky salt, to serve, optional

Avocado Dip

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 Tbsp. lime juice
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, toss together the potatoes, olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.

Avocado Dip

  1. In a bowl of a food processor, combine all of the ingredients and pulse until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
