Meet Katya

Hi! I’m Katya and welcome to Little Broken.

I share yummy recipes. Visit my food blog www.littlebroken.com

Little Broken is all about fresh ingredients and easy to follow recipes. Here, you’ll find recipes for everyday cook that focus on seasonal produce, chicken, fish, hearty breakfast, scrumptious appetizers, and little bit of sweets in between. Most of the recipes are healthy, simple, and 100% delicious.

I am a self taught cook who always had a passion for cooking and making new things to eat, which I owe to my mom. She taught me the basics and inspired me to cook from early age on.

All of the recipes are developed by me, unless otherwise noted.

I was born in Russia and moved to America at age of 8. I hold a degree in Criminal Justice and for as long as I could remember, I have wanted to be a paralegal, work in a sky rise building, and wear pretty heels to work. I was blessed enough to do just that for 10 years of my life, while working for a corporate defense firm.

In 2015, I traded my corporate life for mommy hood.   I have a slight obsession with anything and everything to do with salads, cucumbers, avocado, and shoes! I can speak, read, and write Russian.

I currently reside in Maryland with my husband and three kids.

If you have any questions, comments, recipe requests, or are interested in working with me, you can use the contact form or email me directly at: katya(at)littlebroken(dot)com.

You can also find me on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Hi Katya! I landed here because I was looking for an easy and veggie-heavy pasta dinner to make in a hurry. (Tonight! And it’s already getting dark!) Well, I found it, of course, and then I just kept reading. I love your website! I have to admit, and I hope this is not weird, but your smile is so open and warm that I was encouraged to stop and see your recipes. Smiles like that really do connect. I’m off to make Pasta Primavera with Roasted Vegetables! Thanks for the recipe and inspirations!

Katya, you might write a good novel! What say?

Stumbled upon from the net while preparing for a salad. Wanted it to ‘ve appetizing looks and scrumptious taste. Visited many recipe sites, none was so lucid as yours. Great pictures, specially the ingredients pic is very helpful. You captured the essence of good food, belle. Go on, create more. India’s young are just beginning to fall in love with salads.

BTW, my corn salad with feta turned out quite well. Thanks for the detailing.

You’re the first blog I’ve ever subscribed to. I sense a kindred spirit… from your recipes to our common nationality. I am first generation Russian and both my parents (now in their 90’s) are living survivors of WWII era Russia. I am the fifth child in our family, so by the time I came along, Russian cuisine was replaced by the more popular tacos, burritos, and pizza that my brothers craved. I can understand Russian, but speaking it fluently is a challenge. I digress, though. I am making your Lentil Chili and am looking forward to a house full of delicious aromas. I look forward to wandering through your site. Beautiful!
