Little Broken

Meet Katya

Hi, I’m Katya, the creator of Little Broken. I’m thrilled to have you here!

My Cooking Journey

My passion for cooking began at an early age as I watched my grandmother and mother make from scratch meals using the most humble ingredients such as cabbage, potatoes, rice, and flour. I owe much of my culinary inspiration to my mom, who taught me the warmth of family traditions, the importance of nourishing oneself and others, and the joy of sharing meals together.

Professional Background

Before dedicating myself to recipe development and publishing, I pursued a career in the legal world. I hold a degree in Criminal Justice and spent ten years working as a corporate paralegal for a defense firm. While I enjoyed my time in the corporate world, I decided to transition to being a stay-at-home mom in 2015 while starting my food site at that time simply as a hobby.

Today, Little Broken is a publishing site where millions of visitors come to find their next idea for a meal, and consists of a team of six awesome ladies who help me with everything from washing dishes, photography, writing, and recipe research. And we’re so proud to have been featured in publications like BuzzFeed, Good Housekeeping, HuffPost, and Yahoo.

What You’ll Find Here

At Little Broken, you’ll discover a variety of recipes focusing mainly on main dishes with lean protein, seasonal ingredients, easy breakfast ideas, and a little bit of sweets in between. Most of the recipes are designed to be made on weeknight with fresh ingredients, and easy-to-follow steps. Whether you’re looking for a comforting mac and cheese, one pan easy chicken recipe, or a loaded salad, we aim to provide delicious meals that your entire family will love.

Visit our recipe index page. Here you can search by diet, ingredients, and even season.

A Little More About Me

I currently reside in Virginia with my husband and three kids. My biggest blessing in life is my family, and I love spending time with them. Cooking for them is one of my greatest joys, and I’m constantly looking for new recipes for them to try.

When I’m not in the kitchen, I love to travel to new places, explore local farmer’s markets, coffee shops, home decor stores, or simply spend time with my family at home.
