Little Broken

Popular FAQs

What does Little Broken mean?

It means not perfect. When I started this blog my life was changing in every aspect imaginable and I found myself feeling unsure, scared, and anxious but also excited and hopeful. I knew there was a plan and purpose even though I literally felt broken. So in the midst of life changes this blog came about as a way to express my creativity and passion for cooking. In March of 2014, I published my first recipe.

How do you calculate nutritional information?

As requested by you, my readers, beginning of 2016 I began including nutrition information in my recipes. I use Nutrifox, which is an online nutrition calculator. Since I am not a licensed nutritionist or a doctor and rely on third-party, I encourage you to calculate nutritional information on your own before relying on what is provided with the recipes. Variations will happen due to different brands, measurements, etc.

Where do you get your recipes?

I come up with the majority of the recipes on my own and once in a while, I will adapt a recipe from some other place. I love to get inspiration from family, friends, cookbooks, TV shows, restaurants, magazines, or other bloggers.

Who takes your pictures?

I do! All of them. I’m a self-taught photographer and am still learning. Photography might be the hardest part of blogging but I enjoy learning and improving. I use a Canon 5D Mark IV camera with 50mm f/1.4 lens.

What is your background in food?

Besides what my mama taught me – none at all! I’ve always had a passion for cooking and trying new things. My mom taught me the basics and inspired me to cook from an early age.

I have a question about one of your recipes?

The best place to ask and also check for answers is in the comment section of the recipe post. It’s helpful because others may have the same question as you.  Also if a recipe did not work out like you hoped for, please let me know in the recipe post as I would love to help you figure out why.

What are your favorite recipes?

White Chicken Apple Chili has been a family favorite for quite some time now. We also love Korean Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Easy Potstickers, and Simple Whole Roasted Chicken.

Who eats all the food?

We eat most of it! It probably sounds like a lot but between two adults, one teenager, and two little hungry girls, most of the food gets eaten.

Do you work with brands?

At the moment, we do not accept brand collaborations.
