Popular FAQs
t means not perfect. When I started this blog my life was changing in every aspect imaginable and I found myself feeling unsure, scared, anxious but also excited and hopeful. I knew there was a plan and purpose even though I literally felt broken. So in the midst of life changes this blog came about as a way to express my creativity and passion for cooking. In March of 2014 I published my first recipe.
As requested by you, my readers, beginning of 2016 I began including nutrition information for my recipes. I use Nutrifox, which is an online nutrition calculator. Since I am not a licensed nutritionist or a doctor and rely on third-party, I encourage you to calculate nutritional information on your own before relying on what is provided with the recipes. Variations will happen due to different brands, measurements, etc.
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR RECIPES?
I come up with the majority of the recipes on my own and once in a while I will adapt a recipe from some other place. I love to get inspirations from family, friends, cookbooks, TV shows, restaurants, magazines, or other bloggers.
WHO TAKES YOUR PICTURES?
I do! All of them. I’m a self taught photographer and am still learning. Photography might be the hardest part of blogging so far but I enjoy learning and improving. I use a Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR Camera with 50mm 1.8 lens. The lens is super affordable and I use it on most of my photography. The camera has been discontinued by the manufacturer but Canon EOS 6D is an amazing option with wi-fi capabilities that is on my list!
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND IN FOOD?
Besides what my mama taught me – none at all! I’ve always had a passion for cooking and trying new things. My mom taught me the basics and inspired me to cook from early age on.
I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT ONE OF YOUR RECIPES?
Best place to ask and also check for answers is in the comment section of the recipe post. It’s helpful because others may have the same question as you. Also if a recipe did not work out like you hoped for, please let me know in the recipe post as I would love to help you figure out why.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE RECIPES?
White Chicken Apple Chili has been a family favorite for quite some time now. We also love Korean Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Potstickers, and more recently Homemade Vanilla Almond Flax Granola with Coconut.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU POST NEW RECIPES?
At the moment, I post twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. I try to stick to this schedule as much as I can but sometimes things come up and I will post on different days.
WHO EATS ALL THE FOOD?
We eat most of it! It probably sounds like a lot but between a hungry 7 year old and 1 year old (with an appetite of an adult!), most of the food gets eaten. Unless I bake, then it gets sent to family, friends, or hubby’s office. Because I have no self control.
DO YOU WORK WITH BRANDS FOR SPONSORED POSTS?
Yes, I do! I love working with brands that I genuinely enjoy and use. If you are looking for an opportunity to work together, please e-mail me: katya(at)littlebroken(dot)com.
