- Hawaiian rolls: Feel free to use plain slider buns instead.
- Mayonnaise: Use good-quality mayonnaise.
- Deli turkey: Use any thinly sliced deli turkey or leftover turkey breast.
- Cheese: Use shredded or thinly sliced Swiss cheese.
- Bacon: I use pork bacon, but turkey bacon will also work.
- Unsalted butter: Forms the base of the coating for the buns.
- Dijon mustard: Adds a tangy taste.
- Worcestershire sauce: Adds depth and an umami taste.
- Honey: Adds sweetness and balances some of the savory, tangy flavors.
- Spices: Garlic powder, parsley, and everything bagel seasoning.
How to Make Turkey Sliders
The recipe card at the bottom of the page has more detailed instructions.

Step 1. Without separating the Hawaiian rolls, slice them in half horizontally. Then, place the bottom halves in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.

Step 2. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the rolls.

Step 3. Layer the turkey slices evenly on top.

Step 4. Add the cheese, top it with bacon, and place the top half of the rolls over the fillings.

Step 5. Whisk melted butter, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, honey, garlic powder, and parsley in a small bowl. Generously brush the butter mixture over the top of the rolls and along the sides.

Step 6. Sprinkle the top with everything bagel seasoning. Cover the baking dish and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil in the last 5 minutes.
Turkey Slider Recipe Variations
- Turkey: Substitute the turkey with thinly sliced deli ham, or chicken.
- Cheese: Use any kind of cheese you like best such as Cheddar, provolone, mozzarella, or harvarti.
- Sauce: Instead of mayonnaise, BBQ sauce or basil pesto can be used to add flavor.
Tips for Turkey Hawaiian Roll Sliders
- Layer: Make sure to layer all the filings evenly over the buns to ensure you get a little bit of everything in each bite.
- Let the buns soak up butter: After brushing the butter mixture over the tops and sides of the rolls, it may seem like there’s too much butter. But if you let them sit for about five minutes, they’ll absorb some of it.
- Cool: Allow enough time for your sliders to cool before serving. This helps the filling solidify slightly so your slides hold their shape and prevents you from burning your mouth!
- Serve warm: For the best taste and texture, I recommend serving slides while they’re still warm. That said, if that’s not an option, they’re still tasty at room temperature!
How to Store Turkey and Cheese Sliders
Store leftover turkey sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months!
To serve, thaw them in the fridge overnight. Then, warm them covered in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit just until heated through. You can also reheat sliders in the microwave, but they’ll likely be a bit soggy.
FAQs for Turkey Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls
Adding too much mayonnaise and not baking the sliders long enough are the most common reasons for these sliders to turn out soggy. Use a thin layer of mayonnaise, and start checking the sliders for doneness around 25 minutes.
Make sure to keep the sliders covered in the first 30 minutes of baking, and avoid overcooking!
Line your baking sheet with parchment paper, and bake your sliders in the middle rack of the oven to allow for even heat distribution. The bottom of the sliders will be toasty but not burnt.
