Homemade Ranch dressing is so delicious and easy to make! There’s no doubt homemade anything is way better than store-bought, including this salad dressing. You know exactly what ingredients are going in and it makes the most simple plate of greens taste amazing. This dressing comes together in less than 10 minutes and tastes….well, the BEST.
I’ve been making my own salad dressings and vinaigrettes for years now. They are easier than some think and the best part, I know exactly what’s going in them. So, I’m excited to add a new sub-Category off of Salads to my Recipe Index: Dressings/Vinaigrettes that will include bright, flavorful salad dressing recipes. I will be periodically adding a variety of quick-fix vinaigrettes to creamy classics that you can pair with a bowl of your greens.
Today, I’m sharing a creamy classic that is herby, garlicky, tangy, creamy and fresh! Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing is by far one of the tastiest dressings you can make right at home with most ingredients already in your pantry. It’s all about seasoning and what I love about this one is that it does not require a load of different spices but only a few flavorful ingredients that turn a plain buttermilk, sour cream, and mayo combo into a zesty, velvety, smooth deliciousness. And this by far beats the goopy, thick, stuff out of a bottle.
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 2 Tbsp. sour cream
- 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1½ tsp. fresh finely chopped dill
- 1-2 garlic cloves*, pressed
- ½ tsp. Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
- few dashes of Tabasco sauce
- salt and pepper
- In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients and whisk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and store in the refrigerator up to one week.
