Description

Juicy and flavorful jalapeño turkey burgers topped with guacamole and pico de gallo! The combo of flavors is out of this world good and these are a must for summertime.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground turkey
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1 jalapeno, seeds removed and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack or sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • Black pepper, to taste

To Serve

Instructions

  1. To a large bowl, add turkey, butter, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, mayonnaise, jalapeno, onion, cheese, salt, and pepper. With your hands, gently knead until well combined.
  2. Divide the turkey mixture into 6 equal portions, about 5 ounces each, shaping each portion into a 3/4-inch thick patty.  Using your fingertips, press the center of each patty to create a dimple to prevent bulging.
  3. Preheat an outdoor gas grill on high heat. Clean and oil cooking grates. Place turkey burgers on the grill, and cook, covered, turning once, for about 10 minutes or until internal temperature registers 160F. Don’t overcook it. Transfer burgers to a platter and let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Serve each patty on a burger bun with mayonnaise, topped with guacamole, salsa, and lettuce.

Notes

  • To cook on a grill pan: Heat a grill pan over medium heat with little oil. Add turkey patties in a single layer and cook for about 5 minutes. Flip and cook for 5 minutes more. Cooked turkey burgers should register at 160F. They will continue to cook after you remove them from heat.
