You only need 25 minutes (or less) and 4 items to make these cute Valentine’s Day Candy Pops. I put these together with my little man one weeknight, using leftover holiday candy canes and couple other items that I picked up at Michaels’ Craft Store. It’s an inexpensive and edible valentine that the kids can make and give.

I’ve been wanting to make these after I saw couple different variations of similar pops on Pinterest but those involved baking the candy canes in order to bend them to create a more connected heart. I knew that would not work for me as I wanted something quick, easy, and kid friendly. You can achieve the same job with candy melts, which serve as glue and hold everything together.
You will need (linked at the bottom of the post):
- 24 mini peppermint candy canes (you can also use regular size candy canes that you can cut down)
- 12 lollipop sticks
- 3/4-1 cup Wilton Candy Melts (I used vanilla flavored white and pink colored melts)
- decorative sprinkles
On a parchment lined baking sheet, arrange the candy canes as hearts with the lollipop stick centered in between the two candy canes. Melt the candy melts in a microwave safe bowl according to package directions. Spoon the melted candy into the center of each heart. Use your finger to smooth out the top. Immediately, top with sprinkles of your choice. Chill the candy pops in the freezer for 10 minutes until set and hardened.
Remove from the freezer and store the pops in ziploc bag or place in individual baggies to give away as gifts.

Thanks Alice! I totally agree on enjoying peppermint longer than holidays and with kids, they don’t care what it is, as long as it’s sugar 🙂
Very cute idea for left over peppermint sticks. I always have a ton after Christmas that I don’t know what to do with!
Thanks Amy! I’m so with you on too much christmas candy canes and kids usually don’t care what it is as long as it’s sugar 🙂
